NASA now estimates a 4.3% chance that asteroid 2024 YR4 will hit the Moon in 2031. Asteroid 2024 YR4 was first detected on 27 December 2024 by a Hawaii-based system. YR4 orbits the Sun every four years and passed close to Earth two days before detection.
