Cambridge University's Medieval Murder Maps project analysed the murder of priest John Forde. Forde was killed in 1337 in a calculated act of revenge by a member of the English aristocracy. Ela Fitzpayne, accused of affairs with Forde, faced public humiliation and severe penalties from the church.
