Amitabh Bachchan's first Hollywood film
The Great Gatsby will open this year's Cannes Film Festival, and the Bollywood star features on a poster of the film. Big B plays the small but important role of Meyer Wolfsheim, a shady Jewish mentor to the central figure of Jay Gatsby, and the self-deprecating star claims not to be worthy of having a poster to himself.
Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the poster saying: The poster of Great Gatsby, something I thought to be too presumptuous but Baz Luhrmann insisted that it be done so there ..
“The poster of mine for GG .. not worthy of being there, considering my minuscule role, but Baz Luhrmann,” he added.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as the object of his affections an Tobey Maguire as the observer through whose point of view the film's narrative unfolds.
