State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest public-sector lender, offers five free transactions at its group ATMs for customers maintaining a monthly balance of up to Rs 1 lakh.

For ATMs located in six metro centres - Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. For the other bank ATMs, the free transactions are capped at three.

Previously, accounts with a minimum average monthly balance (ABM) of Rs 25,000 were offered unlimited transactions at SBI's group ATMs but the facility is now only available to customers who maintain Rs 50,000 ABM.

The number of free transactions in metro locations, however, is capped at three.

For transactions beyond the free limit, SBI levies a fee ranging from Rs 5 to 20, depending upon the type of transaction and the ATM. For non-financial transactions over the free limit, customers are charged Rs 5 at SBI ATM and Rs 8 at other bank ATMs in addition to the applicable GST rates.

SBI ATM Withdrawal Charges

Each cash withdrawal transaction beyond the free limit at SBI ATMs is charged Rs 10. For extra financial transactions at other bank ATMs, SBI levies a fee of Rs 20 per transaction. In addition to the fee, applicable GST is also charged from the customer's account.

Declined Transaction

For transactions that are declined due to insufficient balance, SBI charges Rs 20 plus applicable GST.

Unlimited Free Transaction

Customers who maintain a monthly balance of Rs 1 lakh or more are offered unlimited free transactions- financial and non-financial, at SBI or other bank ATMs.

For international ATM cash withdrawal, a customer has to pay Rs 100 in addition to 3.5 per cent of the transaction amount and applicable GST charged. International transactions made via Point of Sale, are charged at 3 per cent of the transaction amount plus GST.

The bank charges a quarterly fee of Rs 12 for SMS alters charges from Debit Card holders who maintain an average quarterly balance of Rs 25,000.
