Bharti Airtel on Monday announced a new broadband plan priced at a monthly rental of Rs 2,199 to offer 1,200 GBs or gigabytes of high speed data, among other benefits. Under the new FTTH- or Fiber-To-the-Home-based plan, the Bharti Airtel will offer up to 300 Mbps of internet speed through Wi-Fi, the telecom company said in a statement. Besides the 1,200 GBs of high speed data, the subscribers will also get benefits such as unlimited STD/local voice calls, it added. Customers opting for the plan will also get free subscription to Airtel's OTT or over-the-top apps such as Wynk Music and Airtel TV. The plan also features such data rollover - wherein users can carry forward the unused data in a billing cycle to next billing cycle, Airtel Surprise and myHome Rewards that rewards customers with free monthly data, according to the company.

Bharti Airtel's new broadband plan is available in 89 cities across the country where the company offers home broadband and fixed line services.

"Following the resounding success of our V-Fiber home broadband offering, we are delighted to introduce the new FTTH based plans for customers looking for higher speeds. Fixed broadband continues to be the preferred in-home mode for customers to consume online digital content and the average usage per home is growing at a breakneck speed," said George Mathen, CEO-Homes, Bharti Airtel.

"With this in mind, we will plan to expand our FTTH offerings over the coming days and provide our customers the choice of home broadband plans across a wide range of price points and speeds," he added.

Airtel also introduced a postpaid plan priced at Rs 499 which offers live and free streaming of every T20 cricket match on mobile app Airtel TV. Airtel recently rolled out a new version of the Airtel TV app, which offers a dedicated cricket section, along with 'all the live action'.

Currently, billionaire Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Airtel is also offering live streaming of Vivo IPL 2018 for free on video streaming service Hotstar. The Indian Premier League (IPL) season 11, which started on April 7, can be watched live by Airtel customers on Hotstar for free till April 30, the last day of the cricket league.
