A recent spate of incidents with Boeing planes has brought the focus back on aviation safety, with questions about which seats on plane are safest

The FAA in the US has pointed out that there isn't any one section of an airplane that is more or less safe than another

Responding to the query of WIRED, FAA public affairs specialist Rick Breitenfeldt said passengers should follow crew members' instructions

But a study done by Time Magazine found that the middle seats in the back of the plane had the lowest fatality rate in a crash

It found that during plane crashes, seats in the back third of the aircraft had a lower fatality rate, compared to middle third and in the front third

The research was based on the analysis of 35 years of crash data, up to the year 2015
