The Tortoise That Lived Through 20 US Presidents

A Galapagos tortoise, who lived through over 20 US presidents and two world wars, died on November 20 this year.

The Galapagos tortoise was known by the name Gramma, and was the oldest resident of the San Diego Zoo.

According to reports, Gramma was born in her native habitat and was estimated to be about 141 years old.

It's not clear exactly when the tortoise arrived at the San Diego Zoo, but reports say she came from the Bronx Zoo in either 1928 or 1931.

Gramma was a favorite at the San Diego zoo after arriving there from the Bronx Zoo in New York.

The zoo remembered Gramma, and affectionally called her "the Queen of the Zoo".
