Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency technique that manually maintains heart function and breathing.

It is usually performed when a person is unresponsive, not breathing normally, and has no pulse.

Ensure that the area is free from danger for you as well as the victim. You cannot help if you become a victim as well.

Place the heel of one hand in the centre of the chest. Put your other hand on top, and interlock fingers.

Push hard and fast at least two inches at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute. Let the chest fully recoil between each push.

Push continuously without long pauses. Continuous compressions are highly effective in the first minutes for adults.

Continue until help arrives or the person responds. Keep going without stopping.
