Residents of Delhi will soon be able to enjoy a cruise service on the Yamuna between Sonia Vihar and Jagatpur. The initiative aims to promote tourism.

The service will launch in November as part of the government's efforts to rejuvenate the Yamuna river and develop sustainable travel.

An 8 km stretch of the Yamuna has been developed, running from the Wazirabad barrage to Jagatpur, to support cruise operations.

The cruise boats will come equipped with inboard bio-toilets, a public announcement system, and safety jackets for all passengers.

According to PTI, an official stated that a decision on ticket pricing has not yet been finalised.

"In the initial phase, there are plans to deploy two cruises. Since it will be winter, we hope there will be a good response," the official added.

The cruise service will operate during winter and summer. It will remain suspended during the monsoon.

The cruise operator will be responsible for providing a safe, reliable, and comfortable service for passengers, crew, and other river users.
