UPSC CSE Prelims 2025: All You Need To Know

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is all set to conduct the  Civil Services preliminary examination on May 25

The exam comprises two objective-type papers-General Studies (GS) Paper 1 and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), also known as Paper 2

GS Paper I assesses candidates in subjects such as history, geography, political science, economics, and developments in science and technology

The CSAT paper, on the other hand, tests comprehension, logical reasoning, and analytical abilities

The question papers will be in Hindi and English, and the duration of each paper will be two hours

General Studies Paper 2 is qualifying, with a minimum passing mark of 33%

There is negative marking for wrong answers in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination

One-third marks deducted for each wrong answer; multiple answers treated as wrong; no penalty for unanswered questions

UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 will be held on May 25 in two shifts: Paper 1 (GS)- 9.30am-11:30am, Paper 2 (CSAT) 2.30pm-4:30pm
