NEET PG Counselling Process Explained

The NEET PG Counselling (allotment process) involves various steps such as registration, processing of seat allotment and result declaration

Here is a step by step counselling process of NEET PG which is based on last year's counselling process.

Firstly, the Institutes confirm the tentative seat matrix which involves checking the number of seats offered in each course and seat distribution across reserved categories, etc.

After the verification of tentative seat matrix by participating institutes, the registration/payment process starts for the counselling session, which typically lasts for up to 60 days.

The next step involves selection of preferred colleges and courses by candidates. Students are asked to choose more than one college. The choice filling lasts for 10 days.

Once 10 days complete of choice filling, the seat allotment process by the concerned authorities begins and is competed in about two days.

The Result is declared for the counselling (allotment process) by the authorities.

After the result declaration, the candidates report to and join the allotted institutes, which lasts for  about seven days

Lastly, the data is shared to MCC, DGHS. The data for joined candidates get verified by the respective allotted institutes. This process lasts for about two days.

This process is repeated for four rounds.  The NEET PG counselling process typically runs for four rounds to facilitate seat allocation, address vacancies, etc.
