NDA: The advertisement for NDA is released twice a year in the months of June and December

CDSE: Advertisement for CDSE open in the months of July and November by UPSC

The written tests for NDA and CDSE are conducted by UPSC. Candidates can apply accordingly

For all entries other than NDA and CDSE, candidates have to undergo the AFCAT test

AFCAT is Air Force Common Admission Test. The test is conducted twice a year

After qualifying NDA, CDSE or AFCAT, candidates will receive a Call letter to report to any one AFSB

The boards are located at Dehradun, Varanasi, Gandhinagar and Mysuru

At the AFSB, candidates undergo tests to ascertain their suitability as an Officer in the Indian Air Force

Candidates selected in the test will be sent for medical examination

The exam is held at either Air Force Central Medical Establishment or Institute of Aviation Medicine

An All India Merit List is compiled on the basis of candidates' performance in written and AFSB
