Whirlpool targets Rs 850 crore turnover during Diwali sales

Home appliances major Whirlpool of India is targeting growth of 15 per cent and sales turnover of Rs 850 crore during the Diwali festival season this year.

"We are aiming for a growth of 15 per cent and sales turnover of Rs 850 crore during this period and are confident of getting there," said Whirlpool of India vice president corporate affairs & strategy Asia South Shantanu Das Gupta.

The company today launched a range of products across categories - refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, microwave oven - and unveiled a Diwali promotional offer across India.

Besides, it said it will spend Rs 20 crore for the promotional multi-media campaigns during the season, Whirlpool said in a release.

Under the offer, the company would provide assured gifts as gift hamper. The consumer will also be entitled to a scratch card through which a hair dryer worth Rs 725 or a gift hamper worth Rs 2,880 could be won.
