US To Look Into India's H-1B Visa Concerns

New Delhi: US Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said on Tuesday she would look into the Indian government's concerns over a hike in visa fee for professionals.

New Delhi has protested against the hike, which it says is a barrier to the movement of workers.

"It is imperative that we look into that issue," Ms Pritzker told a news conference in New Delhi at the end of a strategic and commercial dialogue between the two countries.

In March, the government filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization, protesting against the doubling of the fees for H-1B and L-1 work visas and limits on their numbers.
