SpiceJet Diwali Offer: Fares Start at Rs 899

Budget carrier SpiceJet's Diwali special offer has fares starting at Rs. 899.  The booking period for this SpiceJet offer is between October 21 and October 26, 2014. This offer is applicable on travel between November 1, 2014 and December 15, 2014

"Make the most of this festive season with SpiceJet's Diwali Dhamaka Sale. Fly to various cities in India at amazingly low fares starting Rs.899 all-in. Book till 23:59 hours on 26th October 2014 for travel between 1st November and 15th December 2014," SpiceJet said

The special fares are applicable on Bangalore to Chennai and Kochi route. "Attractive fares also available for other cities," SpiceJet said.

Rival carrier AirAsia on Monday kicked off its own Diwali sale. As part of this AirAsia offer, tickets for the Bangalore to Chennai and Kochi route are priced at Rs. 999. On the Bangalore to Goa route tickets are priced at Rs. 1699. Fares on the Bangalore to Jaipur and Chandigarh route are Rs. 2999.

Airlines in India this year have come up with many promotional schemes to attract flyers. Low-priced air tickets offered by various Indian airlines seem to have had an effect, with the number of passengers flown by them in August growing by over 8.3 per cent compared to July this year, official data showed. The latest figures showed the number of domestic passengers carried by the airlines grew from 52.60 lakh in July to 56.97 lakh in August.
