Soon, you can store education certificates online

In an initiative that would help weed out the menace of fake education certificates, leading bourse the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is working on a repository that will have education qualification credentials stored in a dematerialised (electronic) format.

The premier stock exchange is already implementing insurance repository that houses policies in demat form. "We have given a proposal to create education qualification repository so that all education qualifications from kindergarten onwards can be put into that depository and any potential employer or anyone can actually verify the same...," BSE Managing Director and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan
told PTI.

Noting that the repository on education qualifications is at an advanced stage, he said that such use of technologies would help in providing better services to the public.

In this regard, the bourse is working with the Ministry of Human Resource and Development.
