Overnight, the Dow and S&P 500 ended barely lower on Wednesday after a drop in energy shares but declines were limited by minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting, which showed policymakers are concerned about raising interest rates too soon.

On the other hand, ACC was the top Nifty loserm down 1.5 per cent to Rs 1,629. Ambuja Cements, Bajaj Auto, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tech Mahindra and Dr Reddy's Labs were also among the losers.
