Salman Khan's Kick Eyes More Box-Office Records

Salman Khan-starrer Kick would be eying this weekend for a box-office boost. After smashing many box-office records, Kick now has Chennai Express' domestic box-office record in its sights.

Kick's net domestic collection so far has been pegged at over Rs 210 crore, below Chennai Express' tally of Rs 226.70 crore, according to Bollywood website koimoi.com. Kick is now the fourth-biggest domestic grosser after Dhoom 3 (Rs 280.25 crore), Krrish 3 (Rs 240.50 crore) and Chennai Express, according to koimoi.com.

Kick has already collected Rs 62 crore from overseas markets till Wednesday and the collections could go up even higher, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said in a tweet.

Kick's success makes Salman Khan the first Bollywood actor to have seven Rs 100 crore movies to his credit, according to Mr Adarsh: Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, and Jai Ho.

With Kick, director Sajid Nadiadwala has also moved into record books. He has become director whose first movie has grossed over Rs 200 crore.

Released on July 25, Kick also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, among others. Kick was released over 5,000 screens in India and as well as 42 other countries. (With Agency Inputs)
