Salman Khan-starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan sizzled at the box office and crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in its opening weekend, say analysts. The strong performance of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has helped boost the sentiment of shares of multiplex operators.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a tweet said, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan is Salman Khan's 8th film to cross Rs 100 crore mark in India. Highest Rs 100 crore score by any actor (Hindi films)."

Another analyst Komal Nahta also in a tweet said, "Rs 102.60 crore Bajrangi Bhaijaan first weekend. Outstanding!"

Mr Nahta in a another tweet also said that Bajrangi Bhaijaan on its first day of release in the US stood at No 10 in North American box office charts. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan first day US: $7,00,000. No. 10 on box-office chart of North America," he tweeted.

Co-produced by Salman Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been released over in over 50 countries. Directed by Kabir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan also features Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Harshaali Malhotra and Om Puri.

Shares of India's biggest multiplex operator PVR ended nearly 3.5 per cent higher on Monday. It had gained 2.7 per cent on Friday. Shares of another multiplex operator Inox Leisure surged nearly 16 per cent. Inox Leisure had on Friday reported an over four-fold increase in standalone net profit at Rs 22.56 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan also lifted shares Eros International, which has the global distribution rights of the movie. Eros gained nearly 0.60 per cent Monday, adding to its over 4 per cent rise on Friday. In comparison, Nifty ended flat.
