Rupee Weakens to 63.50 as Share Losses Hurt

The rupee was trading at 63.50/51 against dollar compared with Tuesday's close of 63.28/29.

Volumes were thin in the holiday-shortened Christmas week.

Losses in local shares were boosting hurt sentiment. The Nifty ended 1.1 per cent lower. Month-end dollar demand from importers also hurt.

Heavy dollar buying was seen from custodian banks, say traders.
