Renuka Sugars Posts Profit Of Over Rs 3 Crore In Q1

New Delhi: Renuka Sugars Ltd on Monday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 3.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30.

The company had posted a loss of Rs 150.2 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

Income from operations rose to Rs 1,629.1 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal year from Rs 1,584.8 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Total income increased to Rs 1,644.2 crore during April-June period from Rs 1,591.4 crore in the year-ago period. 

The company's total expense declined to Rs 1,550 crore from Rs 1,742.5 crore during the period under review.

Renuka Sugars' board approved appointment of Stephen Ho Kiam Kong as additional director of the company with effect from Monday.

It also approved appointment of Bhupatrai Mansukhlal Premji and Dorab Mistry as additional directors designated as independent directors of the company with effect from the same day. 

Shares in Renuka Sugars settled 0.60 per cent higher at Rs 16.7 apiece on the BSE, whose benchmark Sensex index finished down 0.33 per cent.
