Railways' New Tejas Express To Come With Wifi, LCDs, Food By Top Chefs

Indian Railways is set to launch a luxury train service called Tejas Express on the Mumbai-Goa route from June. Announced in the Rail Budget last year, the 20-coach Tejas Express will come fitted with automatic doors, LCD screens, onboard wifi, coffee vending machines and magazines, among other features. "Luxury Mumbai -Goa train to hit the tracks from June," Indian Railways - which is one of the world's largest employers - said on Twitter. Tejas will showcase the future of train travel in India, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has said.

Tejas Express will operate at speeds of 130 kmph and more, according to the Rail Budget.

The train "will showcase the future of train travel in India", offering onboard services such as entertainment, local cuisine, WiFi etc. through one service provider for ensuring accountability and improved customer satisfaction, it had said.
