PM Modi Promises 'Ease of Doing Business' to Australia Inc

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met top Australian business leaders at Melbourne today that also had leaders from India Inc in attendance. He promised members of Australia Inc, 'ease of doing business' in India and said, this is the best time to be in India, "for both business and life".

• Must do away with red tape and promote ease of doing business

• Asia Pacific looks forward to working with Australia. Assure you my personal attention

• Thank the Australian Prime Minister and his government for the love and hospitality they gave to us. I invite you to India. This is the best time to be in India, both for business and life

• We have launched 'Make in India' to encourage manufacturing

• We are promoting labour intensive manufacturing

• Government is working with single window clearance at federal and state level

• We are planning to build 100 smart cities equipped with world class amenities

• We need "I-ways" (Information ways. IT will be used to drive govt processes and programme implementation)

• Government is rolling out a broadband programme to reach every village

• Our greatest strength is that 65% of population is below 35 years of age

• No one can question potential after Mass Orbiter Mission. Everything was indigenous. Our MARS mission cost less than Hollywood films

• Defence sector opened to 49% FDI, Railways to 100%
