Pizza Now To Be Delivered At Your Train Seat

Just ahead of the Railway Budget on Thursday, there is some good news for people who travel by train and like their pizza.

Jubilant Foodworks, the master franchise that operates Domino's Pizza and Dunkin' Donuts in India has tied up with Indian Railways to serve pizzas to passengers.

Passengers can either order online or through phone and the pizza would be served to them at their seat. However, it is only applicable for trains without a pantry car.

"e-catering service has been started by IRCTC exclusively for passengers travelling in trains without pantry where passenger can book preferred meal through e-catering website as well as through phone and SMS also.

"The website address is www.ecatering.irctc.co.in and phone numbers are 1800-1034-139 (Toll-free), 0120-4383892-99 (Toll) and SMS MEAL to 139," the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd or IRCTC said on its website.

The services will be available from 6 am in the morning to 10 pm at night.

Dominos will start with 12 stations and will offer customers a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizzas. (See Menu and Stations).

On Wednesday, the Jubilant stock rose over 3 per cent to hit an all-time high of Rs 1718.85, on the news of the tie-up.
