Nifty edges above 6100; Coal India soars

The Sensex gained 0.27 per cent and the broader Nifty traded up 0.18 per cent as markets headed for a third day of gains. Shares in Coal India gained 3.1 per cent after its January-March earnings beat estimates and after the world's largest coal producer also announced it would raise prices.

Reliance Industries surged 0.9 per cent, up for a second day after the conglomerate and its partners said on Friday they had made a significant gas discovery in the KG-D6 block.

Astrazeneca Pharma India fell 14.7 per cent after setting the floor price for a share sale from promoters at Rs 490, a 39 per cent discount to Monday's closing price of Rs 805.
