MTS Offers Lower Voice Call Tariff

Kolkata: MTS brand CDMA telecom operator Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) on Wednesday announced lower tariff call rates.

An MTS release said that the special tariff voucher of Rs 26 for the Kolkata circle and the rest of West Bengal (RoWB) circle would enable cheaper call rates.

"The tariff voucher will enable lowest call tariffs for MTS customers in comparison to any other mobile operator in the two circles," a company release said.

The voucher benefits include off-net local calls from at 1.2 paise per 3 sec (24 paise/min) and on-net local calls within the Kolkata and RoWB circles at 1.2 paise per 6 secs (12 paise/min), the company said.

Meanwhile, Tata Docomo Photon on the same day announced augmentation of its network in the city which will allow it to offer an upgraded data speed of up to 9.8 Mbps on the Photon Max Wi-Fi data card.

This augmentation will result in faster speeds on the Photon Max Wi-Fi device, Tata Teleservices said.

All existing customers of Tata Docomo Photon will be automatically able to access the higher speeds. They will not incur any roaming charges nationally for the use.
