Kick Packs a Punch for Salman Khan at the Box Office

Salman Khan-starrer Kick added Rs 20 lakh to its box-office kitty on Tuesday and Wednesday, Bollywood trade website Koimoi.com said in a report.

Kick, the biggest grosser of the year so far, has extended its net collection to 232.97 crore at the domestic box office, says the report. Kick, also Salman Khan's biggest grosser, pulled in nearly Rs 68 crore from overseas markets, adds the report.

In terms of gross collection, Kick's made a business of Rs 377.16 crore worldwide, taking it to the position of being Bollywood's fourth-highest worldwide grosser, says the report, behind 3 Idiots (Rs 395 crore), Chennai Express (Rs 422 crore) and Dhoom 3 (Rs 542 crore).

Kick is a remake of the hit 2009 Telegu film of the same name and the screenplay for the Hindi version was adapted by Chetan Bhagat and Sajid Nadiadwala, who's also the director-producer of the movie. The film has been released under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.

Kick's success makes Salman Khan the first Bollywood actor to have seven Rs 100 crore movies to his credit: Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, and Jai Ho, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had said in a tweet. (With Agency Inputs)
