Jet Airways Extends Sale, Offers Tickets Starting Rs 990

Jet Airways has extended its promotional scheme offering fares starting as low as Rs 990 on select domestic flights under economy class travel. Under Jet Airways' "Best Fares Forever" offer, tickets must be purchased till December 27, 2016, for travel on or after January 4, 2017. "Tickets must be purchased a minimum of 15 days prior departure," the airline said on its website, adding that limited seats are available under the offer on a first come, first serve basis.
Rival airline GoAir is offering tickets from an all-inclusive Rs 999 as part of its Christmas sale. Applicable on travel between January 9, 2017 and April 15, 2017, the GoAir offer is open till December 31. GoAir has not disclosed the number of seats available under the offer.
Budget carrier AirAsia India is also selling all-inclusive tickets from Rs 917 under its New Year Sale offer. The AirAsia offer - applicable on travel between March 1, 2017, and October 31, 2017 - is open till January 1, 2017.
Another rival IndiGo, which is the biggest airline in India, had last week come up with a Rs 999 offer, bookings for which ended on Christmas.
Discounted fares from various airlines have spurred a strong growth in domestic air travel. According to aviation regulator DGCA, the number of passengers carried by domestic airlines during January to November of this year has jumped 23 per cent to 903 lakh.
