Infosys chief Vishal Sikka has emerged as one of the top rated CEOs, in an employee's choice survey by Glassdoor. Glassdoor is a website where employees and former employees anonymously review companies and their management.

The Infosys CEO thanked his staff via micro-blogging site Twitter on Wednesday, after the list was released.

"Wow! Sitting here in our own glass doors late at night, you can only feel humbled to see this. Thx Infoscions! (sic)," Mr Sikka tweeted. Infosys employees are referred to as Infoscions.

In the list of the top-rated 50 CEOs, Mr Sikka is second among the four Indian-origin personalities featured in the list, behind Cognizant CEO Frank D'Souza at No. 33.

Stryker's Kevin Lobo was ranked No. 43 in the list, while Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen came in at No. 47.

The Infosys head - who is the first non-founder head of India's second largest IT outsourcing company - had a 91 per cent approval of employees, according to the survey.

The Glassdoor survey recognises 50 highest rated CEOs at large companies (1,000 or more employees), determined by the people who work for them in the US.

Over 60 per cent of Infosys' revenues are generated from North America, while India contributes a little over 2 per cent, according to the company. Nearly 30 per cent of Infosys' employees are based onsite or outside India.

Mr Sikka was appointed as Infosys director on June 14, 2014 and elevated to managing director and chief executive officer effective August 1, 2014.

Google CEO Larry Page emerged on top of the employee-survey list, followed by Nike's Mark G Parker. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg was ranked at No.4, while Apple CEO Tim Cook was ranked at No.10.
