Indian Railways has decided to increase the speed of the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express train in a bid to reduce the overall journey time along the route and enhance passenger's experience. The Central Railway zone released a statement that the speed of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Superfast special has been decided to be increased, including the provision of an additional halt at Gwalior along the route. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also shared the statement saying that the faster speed with revised timings of the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express will enable passengers to reach their destination faster than before. Indian Railways authorities have decided to increase the speed of Train number 01221 / 01222 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani superfast special, operating four days a week, with an additional halt at Gwalior. According to the Central Railways zone, the revised timings of the journey are as follows:


Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Superfast special - New Train Timings, Train Numbers:
 

  • From January 9, 2021, train number 01221 Rajdhani superfast special will leave the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 4:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday and will arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 9:55 AM the next day.
  • From January 10, 2021, train number 01222 Rajdhani superfast special will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin at 4:55 PM every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday and will arrive at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai at 11.15 AM the next day.
  • The revised halts along the journey are at - Kalyan, Nashik Road, Jalgaon, Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior, and Agra Cantt

Passengers can check the detailed timings at halts of the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani superfast special train on the NTES mobile app or by visiting www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in. Only those passengers having confirmed tickets will be permitted to board these special trains, according to the Railway Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Central Railways zone had resumed the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express services on December 30, 2020, almost nine months after having suspended services in the month of March 2020 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus infection.
