IMAX Chennai's Date With James Bond's Spectre This Friday

Chennai has a special date with James Bond this Friday. The city's Jazz Theatre will launch Chennai's first IMAX with the release of Spectre - James Bond's 24th offering to celluloid on November 20.

Spectre has been shattering box-office records worldwide since its global release on November 6.

According to Forbes estimates, Spectre has already amassed over $550 million globally. In China, where the James Bond film released last week, raked in nearly $50 million dollar for the opening weekend- a record for a 2D film.

Spectre had also emerged as the second highest opener at the box-office of all its instalments so far, according to Forbes magazine.

Spectre amassed $73 million in the US in its first weekend at the box office, only behind James Bond's previous offering of Skyfall in 2012.

Trade analysts and multiplexes in India too expect Spectre to bring in big numbers.

Indian audiences will have to wait till this Friday before being enthralled by what is supposed to be Daniel Craig's last appearance as James Bond. This is the fourth time that he reprises the role of the British spy. Daniel Craig has publicly declared that this is his last Bond film and there is immense speculation as to who will be the next 007.

Spectre releases in theatres across India on Friday.

According to Sony Pictures, the film has broken Skyfall's record in some markets.

Spectre is directed by Sam Mendes and alongside Daniel Craig stars Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz and Monica Bellucci.
