Hero MotoCorp sales up 16% in September

Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp reported 15.78 per cent rise in total sales at 4,68,670 units for September this year.

In the same month last year, it had sold 4,04,787 units, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said: "Our performance in September is a result of the strong retail growth we have reported throughout the first half of this financial year. Our 16 per cent growth in despatch sales in September has come on the back of a consistent 7 per cent growth in our retails this year."

In September, the company commenced construction of its Centre of Global Innovation and Research & Design (R&D) at Kukas, on the outskirts of Jaipur in Rajasthan, with an investment of Rs 450 crore.

This facility will be ready for operations by the first quarter of calendar year 2015.
