The world’s largest producer of two-wheelers Hero MotoCorp on Wednesday said it has entered a design-and-technology support partnership with U.S. motorcycle company Erik Buell Racing (EBR).

"As part of the partnership, (Hero) will receive support in terms of cutting-edge technology and design to develop future models from EBR," the company said.

The company will enter the international motorcycle racing market through the tie-up, it added. The two-wheeler major is also sponsoring the AMA Championship through the two EBR teams. Team Hero will now debut at AMA PRO racing super bike championship in the US on EBR 1190RS bikes

“We are looking to further augment our R&D capabilities through multiple alliances and bring the next generation high end bikes to India,” it said.

Hero MotoCorp, which is based out of New Delhi, is currently developing a concept hybrid scooter called ‘Leap’ in collaboration with EBR.

In March last year, Hero exited a 26-year-long joint venture with Japan's Honda Motor Co.
