Government Seeks Rs 1.67 Lakh Crore In Additional Budgetary Spending

Government said it is seeking parliamentary approval to spend Rs 1.67 lakh crore ($22.8 billion) for the current fiscal year.

The Union Government sought an additional Rs 46,602 crore to transfer to states and Rs 10,000 crore more for its food subsidy scheme, the government said in a statement on Monday.
