Former MMTC GM arrested

CBI today arrested V Gurumurthy, former general manager of public sector undertaking Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation of India Ltd (MMTC), for his alleged involvement in financial irregularities.

He was produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody, CBI sources said.

CBI had earlier filed an FIR saying during 2007-09, Gurumurthy with others conspired with a private company to cheat MMTC in bullion (gold and silver) trading.
