Edtech startup PhysicsWallah has become a unicorn as it has raised $100 million through a series A funding round from investors like WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures.

The company had made this announcement in a statement issued on Tuesday, June 7.

According to the statement, PhysicsWallah's value, after this transaction, would be $1.1 billion. The funds would be used towards business expansion and opening more learning centres as well as introducing more offerings.

PhysicsWallah also plans to launch education content in several Indian languages namely Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil and Telugu as part of its growth plans.

The company has currently 1,900 employees including 500 teachers and 90-100 tech experts. It also has 200 associate professors to answer student queries and other 200 professionals for creating exam questions and term papers.
