ED questions actress Preity Zinta over her investments in IPL franchise

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today questioned Bollywood actress Preity Zinta in connection with her investments in the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab.

The actress was questioned for six hours by ED officials. She was asked to explaining her source of funds.

Kings XI Punjab is owned by a consortium which includes industrialists Mohit Burman, Karan Paul and Ness Wadia, and actress Preity Zinta, among others.

The ED is trying to ascertain the source of money and investigating if there was any laundering of money by any of the franchises in the second edition of the tournament held in 2009.

Last month, the ED had slapped a fine of Rs. 100 crore on another IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals, which is co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra.
