Crompton Greaves Bags Rs 300 Crore Order from Power Grid Corporation

Mumbai: Avantha Group company Crompton Greaves on Thursday said it has bagged Rs 300-crore order from Power Grid Corporation (PGCIL) for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of power transformers at various sub-stations across the country.

The orders include 765 kV transformers for the Chittorgarh and Ajmer sub-stations, both part of the green energy corridor, an initiative by the government, to facilitate evacuation of renewable energy into the national grid, the company said in a statement.

CG has also bagged orders for the supply of 400 kV transformers and reactors to Power Grid, a large part of which is meant for the Green Energy Corridor, for the evacuation of solar power to the 400 kV grid in addition to system strengthening projects.

The transformers and reactors will be commissioned at PGCIL's sub-stations in Kunta, Madhugiri, Narendra, Silchar, Mandola, Manesar, Panchkula and Damoh.

The scope of work for these orders include design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, commissioning and associated civil works. The project is scheduled to be commissioned by March, 2017.
