Bosch setting up solar power plants in Andhra Pradesh, Haryana

Global component supplier Bosch Ltd on Friday announced strengthening its foothold in Andhra Pradesh and Haryana by setting up power plants in the states.

"(Bosch) team is currently in the process of commissioning two projects of one mega watt each in Andhra Pradesh and Haryana...," the company said in a statement in Chennai.

Bosch Ltd, which is the flagship company of the Bosch Group, however, did not disclose the value of the project coming up in the two states in its statement.

Bosch Ltd in 2011 marked its entry into the energy portfolio and has been offering quality products and solutions through installation of smaller solar capacity projects on roofs of industries and hotels.

The company also said it has "commissioned a five megawatt solar power plant in Tamil Nadu for its customer Sri Vinayaga Green Power Generation Pvt Ltd".

Bosch would provide turn-key solutions to the power plant set up on a 23 acre land and the company is responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the plant, the statement noted.

"The plant is expected to produce close to 7.6 million units a year and the generated power would be sold to third-party power consumers."

In the last two years, the company developed several roof-top installations ranging from 25kWp to 200 kWp capacity across India, it said.

Bosch Group employs around 26,000 associates in India.

The company generated a consolidated revenue of nearly Rs 13,200 crore in 2013.
