Banks' loan growth inches closer to RBI estimates for FY14

Banks' loan growth moved closer to the Reserve Bank of India's full-year projection, provisional data released by the apex bank showed on Wednesday.

 

Bank loans grew around 13.8 per cent to Rs 76.94 lakh crore, while deposits rose 11 per cent to Rs 58.43 lakh crore from March 22 to November 29, the provisional data showed.

 

The RBI had projected loans to grow at 15 per cent and deposits by 14 per cent in the current fiscal year, which will be ending in March, 2014.
