German luxury car major Audi today launched a new model, the Audi S4, priced at Rs 45,31,000 onwards (ex-showroom Maharashtra).

The new model would be sold through 19 Audi dealerships across the country.

Commenting on the launch, Audi India head Michael Perschke said: "With impressive sales growth in the first five months of this year and the launch of the Audi TT, new Audi A4 and now Audi S4, 2012 is proving to be an exciting time for us."

Powered by a V6 3.0 TFSI engine, the Audi S4 can touch a speed of 100 km/h in five seconds.

Audi India grew by 37 per cent during January to May of 2012, delivering 3,281 vehicles as compared to 2,394 vehicles delivered during the same period last year. It recorded sales of 450 cars in May 2012, a growth of 10 per cent over the same period last year.

The car maker is also looking to expand its network to 25 dealerships by the end of 2012 from its existing 19 centres. The Audi model range in India includes Audi A4, Audi A6, and Audi A7 Sportback.
