Ashok Leyland Q4 net falls by 42 per cent to Rs 150 crore

Ashok Leyland on Friday reported a 42.01 per cent fall in its net profit at Rs 150.03 crore for the fourth quarter that ended on March 31, 2013.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 258.73 crore for the corresponding period previous fiscal year, the Hinduja Group firm said in a filing to the BSE.

Net sales of the company stood at Rs 3,648.41 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 4,254.32 crore for the same period year ago.

In a separate filing to the bourse, the company said its board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.60 per share of the face value of Re 1 each.

Net profit of the company for FY13 stood at Rs 433.70 crore. It was Rs 565.97 crore for the year-ago period.

Net sales of the company were at Rs 12,203.07 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2013 as against Rs 12,703.45 crore for the year ago corresponding fiscal year.

Shares in Ashok Leyland, on Friday, ended at Rs 22.40 per scrip on BSE, down 1.10 per cent from the previous close.
