Airtel's Rs 129 Prepaid Plan Offers 1GB Per Day Data, Unlimited Hello Tunes For 28 Days

Airtel has launched a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 129 with an eye to take on its rival Reliance Jio. Since the arrival of Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio, the Indian telecom sector has seen a data war which has made telecom companies to come up with attractive plans to increase their market share and ARPU (average revenue per user).  Airtel new prepaid plan priced at Rs 129 offers 1GB of 4G data and unlimited hello tunes for a period of 28 days, according to operator's official website - airtel.in. The new plan by Airtel is aimed at subscribers who like to set caller tunes on their numbers.

Sunil Mittal-owned Bharti Airtel is offering 28GBs of 4G data with a daily cap of 1GB data for a period of 28 days. Unlimited Hello Tunes are also offered with the plan. 100 free SMSes are also bundled with this offer. However, the offer is only available in select circles.

The recharge plan is seen as move to counter Reliance Jio's plans of Rs 98 and Rs 149. Jio offers unlimited talktime on local, STD and roming calls, 300 SMS and 2GB of data per day for a period of 28 days under its Rs 98 recharge plan. For Rs 149 it offers unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 42GB of 4G data capped at 1.5GB per day for  a period of 28 days. Since its launch, Jio has offered free hello tunes with every recharge pack.

Last week, Airtel also announced a prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 219 with 1.4GBs or gigabytes of 3G/4G per day data for a period of 28 days, along with free 'Hello Tune' benefit. The plan offers a total of 39.2GBs of 3G/4G data for a period of 28 days with a daily cap of 1.4GB data. Unlimited local, STD and roaming voice call benefits are also bundled with the plan. The prepaid recharge plan is valid for 28 days.
