The Gauhati High Court order says that the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI is 'unconstitutional' and does not have powers to investigate crimes. I have not read the whole judgment. I will meet the PM immediately. From the government side, we have to go to the Supreme Court and challenge the order of the Gauhati High Court. We will talk to the Law Minister Mr Kapil Sibal. V Narayanasamy, Congress CBI is an independent working organization. Over the years, CBI has established trust among the people. Law ministry will answer it. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Congress We are looking into the matter. The government has already made up its mind to approach the Supreme Court by Monday. We will seek an immediate stay on the order. Don't think the High Court order will have any impact on our ongoing investigations and trials. Ranjit Sinha, CBI Director So far I was only concerned about functioning of the CBI, which was politically motivated. That there is an argument of illegitimacy has come to me as a surprise.
