New Delhi: Top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, accused of plotting the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai in 2008, has been granted bail by an anti-terror court in Pakistan, a day after the country's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif pledged to root out terrorism.
  • This decision is unfortunate. I believe Pakistan didn't do enough. India has provided enough evidence. I hope Pakistan will appeal in an higher court and cancel the bail.

    Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister

  • I would not comment on what other nations are doing but things are not working correctly. We have maintained transparency in everything. India has shown a positive attitude towards them and they should reciprocate.

    Manohar Parrikar, Union Defence Minister

  • It's a sad day today for Pakistan because today itself Pakistan took up the resolve that it will fight against terrorism and today itself they granted bail to the accused of one of the deadliest attack in the history of the world.

    Sambit Patra, BJP Spokesperson

  • We cannot comment over their jurisdiction system. But giving bail to terrorists, it indicates that they are not going to fight against terrorism.

    Sitaram Yechury, CPI (M) Leader

  • Pakistan said that they will fight against terrorism.Amidst this, they gave bail to a terrorist. It is a matter of worry.

Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change
