Xi Jinping is now well and truly the supreme leader of China. His unprecedented third term as party chief - the next step the legislature clearing his third term as President in March remains a mere formality. What makes him even more powerful is his vice like grip over both the party and the country now. The top men of the party - in the standing committee are all Xi loyalists - from Li Qiang who will be the next PM to Zhao Leji, they all have his confidence and will execute decisions made by Xi.
