A short film titled Kamali about an Indian mother and her skateboarder daughter based in Mahaballiburam has won the best documentary award at the Atlanta film festival. The film by London-based filmmaker Sasha Rainbow is about the single mother who sells fish while nurturing her daughter to be a skateboarder, fighting all odds including the family and their community.
