How often do we see accident victims just lying by the side of the road with no one coming forward to help? There is something called the Golden Hour, the first hour after an accident. If a victim makes it to a hospital within the golden hour, the chances of survival are relatively high but in our country, which sees the highest road accident fatalities in the world, the importance of being a first responder to an accident is forgotten. There is now Supreme Court mandated protection for good samaritans - you will not be troubled by the police if your choose to help but despite the new laws, how many actually do?
