The government, for the first time, admits that the economy will not grow even at 6 per cent. Deputy Planning Commission Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia tells NDTV the expectations should be realistic as reform policy announcements have a lag effect of at least six months before benefits start to show up. He further adds that UPA’s win in Parliament will now send a bold, clear and positive signal to investors that government can take tough decisions and that India is not opposed to foreign investment.
