NDTV has learnt that government in a note has stated that it is looking to amend the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act. AFSPA gives soldiers legal protection from arrest in certain disturbed areas of Jammu and Kashmir of the northeast. Now, in the section of the Act which mentions when a soldier is allowed to open fire, the words 'even causing death' may be removed. On Trending @ 10, we look at the implications of this proposal.
